Open Permaculture session @ Tribodar: Design of the farm terrain
From 6-7 March 2010
Tribodar is a project in nature related to PERMACULTURE and CREATIVITY, where people can realize different ecological and artistic projects, a place to dream and enjoy. It is divided in four areas: eco-building, ecological gardening, food forest and artistic activities. (see www.tribodar.com for a more complete description)
Tribodar has, at the moment, two different terrains close to each other. “Tribodar Semente” with ¾ of hectar that is the the first nucleus of Tribodar activity with the first communal infrastructure and pemaculture based garden and “Tribodar Terra”, with around 3 hectares to develop further Permaculture and creativity activitys. This event is held in “Tribodar Semente”.
The first step to turn the terrain into a permaculture paradise is the design. As you all know, design is a very important part of a permaculture project, that is why we thought it would be a good idea to think together and open the design phase to the permaculture community in Portugal. It will provide a good opportunity for all those of us who have been submerged in theory so far, and are looking for a way to put it in practice. After this first session, other sessions will follow to execute the design.
Everybody who feels like participating in the first design of a permaculture project is welcome. After introducing the project and a visit to the terrain, we will do some brainstorming to collect ideas. In a next step we will try to organise the ideas put forth in the brainstorm and look for connections. Then the participants will start working with the map of the terrain to figure out design possibilities. Depending on the number of participants, we will work in one group, or in subgroups of 3-5 people in this phase. In the end we will discuss the design(s) and define what information is missing, and/or what would be a plausible next step in the realisation of the Tribodar project.
